Exotic woods are widely used in musical instrument and furniture industry, they are certainly beautiful and recognizable in terms of sound, however they often contribute to deforestation, especially while sourced from Africa, South America or Asia. Furthermore, their transportation from overseas constitutes a considerable carbon footprint to our environment.

While building our Instruments we always prefer locally sourced woods.

Thanks to continuous research and comparisons, our choice of top-quality Italian and European woods is absolutely comparable to the standards set by the exotic options.

The very few plastic components we use are 3D printed.

This wonderful technology reduces our waste to zero, as the components are printed to size, and they require no further machining.

Another advantage of the process is the option to choose the polymer type and its colour.

Component’s colour can match the style of the instrument in a unique fashion.

Functional mechanical properties can be achieved throughout different polymers.

We use only recycled plastics and whenever possible even plant-based ones.

Glues and Paints are very important in the building process.

Proper gluing is the foundation of a durable instrument, natural glues have been proven to be among the best when gluing wood is concerned, we choose only natural glues, free from chemical thinners which are harmful to the environment, and we strictly avoid epoxy resins.

Nitro based paints are generally used in industrial processes where time is of the essence. A chemical thinner is volatile so paint can dry faster. However,in the drying process thinner vapours are dispersed into the atmosphere, contributing to global warming.

All our instruments are painted by water base paints, they require a longer drying time but what is released during evaporation is nothing but water in the form of moisture.

There’s no compromise on the look of paint or its durability, it just requires some extra time, which we are happy to wait for.

We are grateful to Nature for the wood We use to build our instruments and cooperating with Treedom.net in return We plant brand new trees around the world.

In the same way we believe that We believe that each and every one of us must make an effort to reduce our CO emissions, and in doing so we can also help to absorb them by planting trees.

We believe that we can make this planet greener. And we want to do it in the right way.

Plek is a machine that scan the fingerboard while strings are mounted and tuned, producing a chart of the actual set up of the instrument. It is so possible to analyze the chart and make corrections according to the ideal set up the user wants to achieve with an outstanding, never seen before accuracy.

All Garda fingerboards are plekked in house so we can offer best in class standards for our instruments, playing comfort, stability and late re-fretting are some of the key advantages of this process.
